An Analog Affair

Born in Los Angeles, Lauren Meyerson is a passionate creative with an unwavering love for all things slow/analog. Her journey into the world of film photography began as a young observer, watching her father capture moments on family vacations. Under his guidance, Lauren developed a deep appreciation for the art, mastering the patience required to shoot film without the convenience of instant digital feedback.

Her insatiable hunger for knowledge led her to study film photography in college, where she became inseparable from the darkroom, her sanctuary of creativity. With stained clothes and hands smelling of developer, Lauren embraced the tactile nature of her craft, often letting entire days go by in the darkroom.

Completing an associates photography program at Pasadena Community College, Lauren’s skills expanded across various forms, from 35mm black and white to medium format and large format films. Her artistry now unfolds through 35mm black and white film.

Her work is an ode to the analog process—slow, intentional, and full of tactile beauty. In an age dominated by the immediacy of digital technology, Lauren’s images offer a deliberate pause, a space where both the photographer and viewer can fully engage with the art. Through her lens, she invites others to appreciate the quiet, meditative nature of analog photography, celebrating the connection between the photographer, the subject, and the medium itself.
